Is Nbc Really Doing the Office Again
We're about to make your workday so much better:The Office reboot might actually be happening. This news comes on the heels of NBCUniversal pulling the iconic sitcom—which originally starred Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski—from Netflix to feature it on their own streaming service Peacock, which is launching in 2021.
NBCU Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer and Digital Enterprises Bonnie Hammer talked about the possible reboot withDeadline, revealing they are having "conversations" about it. "It is my hope and goal that we do an Office reboot," she said. Ours, too.

When willThe Office reboot be released?
According to Bonner, Netflix still has the rights toThe Office until January 2021, so fans will have to wait until after that for any type of reboot to take place.
"The Office comes back to us in January 2021," Hammer shared.
Parade also reached out to NBCU directly regarding a release date; we've been told no additional details are being released at this time.

Where can I watchThe Office reboot?
NBCU will be launching their own streaming service, Peacock, in April 2020, which is where the potential reboot would be streamed.
"AnOffice reboot would fit into Peacock's strategy for original scripted series, including reboots," Hammer revealed.
According to the Peacock press release, the original run of the series will also be streamed on Peacock once the Netflix deal has finished. Other shows on that will be streamed on Peacock includeWill & Grace,Parks and Recreation and30 Rock.
Who will be returning forThe Office reboot?
While there has been no news surrounding which stars would return for the highly anticipated reboot, Carell has be quite vocal about his lack of interest in participating.

"I just don't think that's a good idea, it might be impossible to do that show today and have people accept it the way it was accepted ten years ago," he previously toldEsquire. In the series, inspired by a British show of the same name, the 57-year-old played Michael Scott, an extremely inappropriate boss—a role that might not exactly work today in the #MeToo movement. "A lot of what is depicted on that show is completely wrong-minded. That's the point, you know? But I just don't know how that would fly now. There's a very high awareness of offensive things today—which is good, for sure. But at the same time, when you take a character like that too literally, it doesn't really work."

But it seems as though Carell is the only one who feels that way. During a 2018 SNL skit, Office stars Fischer,Ed HelmsandEllie Kemperall begged the actor to agree to a reboot, telling him that it would be very lucrative.
"People would really love to see an Office reboot," Kemper said. "Especially me, because I need that money. Let's get that money, Steve."
"I just don't think you understand just how much money we're talking about," Helms joked.
Still, Carell wouldn't budge. "I just don't think it would be as good this time around," he admitted.
What will a reboot of The Office be about?
We're guessing it would take place in an office. But other than the obvious, nothing else is known about what the storyline would be. It seems even Hammer is unsure. "It is my hope that we can figure what that great reboot would be," she told Deadline. So, we can at least rest assured that they are going to create something "great."

While we wait for more details to be released about this potential reboot, fans can still check out the original series on Netflix. There's also a new podcast launching in October called "Office Ladies," which will feature Fischer and herOffice costarAngela Kinsey. They will be giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at their lives.
